(a) To maintain bank integrity, an operator shall minimize disturbance of residual trees, brush, and similar understory vegetation adjacent to surface and standing waters. (b) An operator shall, where feasible, avoid disturbing roots, stumps, and deadfalls embedded in the bed or bank of surface waters, and standing waters larger than one-half acre. (c) In a riparian area, an operator shall, where feasible and necessary, leave high stumps to prevent felled and bucked timber from entering surface waters. (d) The division will, in its discretion, require stabilization, to the extent feasible, of disturbed banks to prevent soil erosion and degradation of water quality.
