(a) When making a determination as to whether a licensee provided reasonable and appropriate treatment or services or charged reasonable and appropriate costs of treatment to a patient, the peer review committee appointed under 12 AAC 16.400 may rely on the guidelines, standards, or recommendations of the following organizations accepted by the board: (1) Alaska Worker's Compensation Board; (2) American Chiropractic Association; (3) Canadian Chiropractic Association; (4) Council on Chiropractic Education; (5) Croft Guidelines published by the Spine Research Institute of San Diego; (6) Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards; (7) repealed 9/7/2012; (8) International Chiropractors Association; (9) National Board of Chiropractic Examiners; (10) World Chiropractic Alliance; (11) World Federation of Chiropractic; (12) a successor organization to an organization specified in this subsection. (b) The peer review committee shall take into consideration the differences between the standards and guidelines of the organizations listed in (a) of this section when making a determination as to whether the care provided by the licensee was provided in a manner required of a reasonably competent practitioner acting under the same or similar circumstances.
