(a) The department will issue a transitional registration to practice home inspection to a home inspector or associate home inspector applicant who verifies meeting the requirements of sec. 44, ch. 134, SLA 2003, and submits (1) a complete, notarized application on or before June 30, 2004; (2) verification of having been, (A) if applying for joint registration, in the business of home inspection on October 1, 2002 and at the time of application; verification under this subparagraph must include a copy of a business license issued under AS 43.70 for those periods; (B) if applying for registration to practice home inspection of either existing or new homes, in the business of home inspection at the time of application; verification under this subparagraph must include a copy of a business license issued under AS 43.70 for that period; or (C) if applying for registration as an associate home inspector, employed by an individual who is in the business of home inspection and is registered in the state; and (3) evidence of a passing score on the examination that is applicable for the registration applied for and that is required under sec. 44, ch. 134, SLA 2003; that evidence must be sent directly to the department from the organization that administered the examination. (b) A transitional registration issued under this section expires on December 31, 2005.
