(a) A nursing education program must be an integral part of an accredited institution authorized by the State to confer credentials in nursing. (b) A nursing education program must have statements of purpose, philosophy, and objectives that are consistent with the law governing the practice of nursing. (c) A nursing education program must be organized with clearly defined authority, responsibility, and channels of communication. (d) A nursing education program must be administered by a registered nurse who is currently licensed in Alaska and who has at least a master's degree in nursing, and preparation or experience in administration, education, and clinical nursing practice. (e) The administrator of a nursing education program is responsible for: (1) the development and implementation of the curriculum; (2) preparation and administration of the budget; (3) recommendation for appointment, promotion, tenure, and retention of faculty; and (4) notifying the board of any major changes in the program or its administration.
