Section 13.30.100. Photographs and fingerprints.

(a) A photograph submitted under AS 18.65.700 - 18.65.790 and this chapter must be one frontal view that includes the head and shoulders, must be taken within the 30 days before submission, and must be of a size, color, and condition that will allow the photograph to be processed in the department's identification production equipment. Applications and other forms provided by the department under this chapter will contain detailed specifications for the photograph, necessary for processing. (b) Fingerprints submitted under AS 18.65.700 - 18.65.790 and this chapter must be taken within the 90 days before submission on forms approved by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and in accordance with instructions on those forms. If the fingerprints submitted by an applicant are not sufficiently readable, the applicant must obtain another set at the applicant's expense. Fingerprints may be taken by (1) a law enforcement agency or state correctional facility; or (2) a person, not affiliated with a law enforcement agency or state correctional facility, who has received the department's written approval to take fingerprints. A list of persons or agencies approved to take fingerprints will be made available to the public. (c) Repealed 5/8/2002.
