Section 15.150.035. Adoption of residential building code and amendments.

The 2012 International Residential Code, with Alaska-specific amendments dated February 24, 2016, which are adopted by reference, shall constitute the residential building code for buildings used for residential purposes containing four or fewer dwelling units. This residential building code is applicable to a residential unit that is not located within a municipality that has an approved municipal building code as described in 15 AAC 150.030. The 2012 International Residential Code, with Alaska-specific amendments dated February 24, 2016, shall apply to residential units whose construction began on or after April 1, 2016, as determined by the date the foundation began installation.
