(a) Unless authorized by the department for airport wildlife hazard control, a person may not discharge a firearm across any portion of a runway, taxiway, or aircraft parking area. (b) Before boarding an air carrier aircraft at an airport operated by the department under 49 C.F.R. Part 1542, a passenger transporting a firearm shall check the firearm, unloaded and encased in a closed container designed for transporting firearms, as or within luggage and notify the air carrier that the luggage contains a firearm. (c) In this section, "firearm" has the meaning given in AS 11.81.900.
