Section 17.55.900. Definitions.

	(a)  As used in this chapter,  
		(1) "agreement" means a contract executed between the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities and a municipality established under AS 29,  by which the department agrees to transfer to the municipality part or all of its duties to plan, design, or construct a specific public works project;  
		(2) "commissioner" means the commissioner of the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities;  
		(3) "department" means the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities;  
		(4) "municipality" means a municipality established under AS 29  which has the necessary power and authority to plan, design, and construct public works.  
	(b)  For purposes of this chapter, "construction" and "public works" are defined in AS 35.95.100.
