(a) A tourist sign permit allows the holder named on the permit to arrange for a sign contractor to manufacture, install, and maintain the sign as specified on the permit and in this chapter until the permit expires. Except as provided in 17 AAC 60.930, a sign permit issued under this chapter expires on December 31 of the fourth year following the date the permit was issued. (b) A tourist sign permit holder may renew the permit by following the application procedure specified in this chapter for the particular tourist sign. A renewed permit expires five years following the date the old permit expired. (c) A tourist sign permit holder shall arrange, at the holder's expense, for a sign contractor to remove the sign before the permit expires unless, before the expiration date, the holder receives a renewed permit for the sign.
