(a) The vessels, vessel personnel, and all traffic of the ferry system are subject to the jurisdiction of the United States Coast Guard. (b) The United States Customs Service and the United States Immigration Service retain certain jurisdiction over the operations of the vessels of the ferry system that are scheduled from Canadian ports. Similar jurisdiction is exercised by Canadian Customs and Canadian Immigration Services over vessels scheduled to Canadian ports. The jurisdiction of federal agencies of both the United States and Canada applies also to passengers, vehicles and crew members of vessels scheduled in such service.
