Section 17.70.110. Refusal to transport.

  • The ferry system reserves the right to refuse transportation to  
    		(1) passengers as follows:  
    			(A) children under 12 years of age unless accompanied by a parent or responsible escort;  
    			(B) minor children 12 years of age and under 16 years of age, when unaccompanied by parent or responsible escort, and not bearing written permission from a parent or responsible escort stipulating that the ferry system is released from all responsibility for the well-being of the minor concerned;  
    			(C) any person apparently under the influence of liquor, drugs, mental disorder, physical disability, or any other comparable condition;  
    			(D) any person who, in the opinion of the master of the vessel, might jeopardize the safety of the vessel or passengers or bring extreme discomfort to other passengers.  
    		(2) vehicles as follows:  
    			(A) any vehicle used in the transport of either persons or articles that are contrary to law; passengers or operators of any vehicle are strictly prohibited from taking on board any vessel any inflammable, explosive, or dangerous substance, or article prohibited by law;  
    			(B) any vehicle when the operator of said vehicle is adjudged by officers of the vessel to be incapable of operating or maneuvering the vehicle when embarking or disembarking;  
    			(C) any vehicle and/or load thereon which, because of size, weight, or other characteristic, cannot be loaded, unloaded, or positioned on the vessel in a normal manner.  
    		(3) other classes of traffic including corpses, livestock, live fish, or any animal, unless in a vehicle and properly boxed, crated and secured. The ferry system reserves the right to refuse to transport items in this category, even when properly boxed, crated or secured if, in the opinion of the ferry system, the comfort and safety of passengers or other traffic may be in question.
