The ferry system reserves the right to refuse any and all articles, and vehicles containing such articles, that in the opinion of its representatives will jeopardize the safe operation of the vessel. The ferry system also reserves the right to refuse to transport vehicles containing offensive or ill-smelling cargo and liquid or semi-liquid commodities when not in properly enclosed containers or tanks which preclude the possibility of escaping odors or leakage from vehicles to the deck of the vessel. No explosives, flammables nor other items prohibited by law are permitted to be carried in vehicles aboard any vessel of the ferry system, except that bottled liquefied petroleum gas in containers that are a fixed part of a vehicle's equipment may be permitted under the following conditions: (1) valve at reservoir must be in the fully closed "off" position; (2) ferry system representative on a terminal or aboard a vessel will place a seal on the reservoir valve to ensure that the liquefied gas supply be unused during the duration of the voyage; (3) no portable containers of any flammable substance will be permitted; (4) operation of internal combustion engines of any type will not be permitted in or on vehicles aboard any vessel of the ferry system, except for the express purpose of moving on or off the vessel.
