(a) In addition to other powers described in this chapter, and subject to 18 AAC 15.240(d), the hearing officer may issue subpoenas requiring the appearance of witnesses and production of evidence if requested by a party. A subpoena issued under this section is enforceable as set out in AS 09.50.010, AS 44.62.590, and Rule 45, Alaska Rules of Civil Procedure. (b) The party who requested the subpoena shall pay, in accordance with AS 44.62.430, for witness fees, mileage, and expenses.
