(a) A school must be free of safety hazards. The department will, in its discretion, require the immediate removal of a hazardous object or condition. (b) If vocational or laboratory programs are provided which may create vapors, fumes, or other hazards, ventilation and personal protection and safety equipment must be provided. (c) If pesticides are used in a school, they must be used according to their registered label instructions and stored in a locked area, separate from other items. (d) Poisonous or dangerous chemicals and compounds must be labeled and stored in a locked area, separate from other items. (e) No person affected with a communicable disease or who is a carrier of such a disease may work in a school. (f) The department will, in its discretion, close all or part of a school in which a condition exists which places the health or safety of students in unwarranted jeopardy.
