(a) Except as provided in 18 AAC 74.006, the department will classify a community or non-transient non-community water system with fewer than 100 service connections that is used or intended for use by fewer than 500 individuals per day, a community or non-transient non-community water system with fewer than 15 service connections that is used or intended for use by more than 500 individuals per day, and a transient non-community water system that uses a surface water source or groundwater under the direct influence of surface water source, as follows: (1) a water system that does not add chemicals to the water will be classified as a small, untreated water system; (2) a water system that adds a single chemical to the water will be classified as a small, treated water system. (b) Repealed 11/21/2010.
