Section 18.80.050. Deficiencies and corrective actions.

(a) Without requiring a corrective action plan, the department may require corrective action (1) as provided under another provision of this chapter; or (2) to prevent or remedy a deficiency that does not directly or indirectly cause, or have the potential to cause, a risk to public health. (b) The department will require corrective action if (1) another provision of this chapter provides that the department will require corrective action but not necessarily a corrective action plan; or (2) the department determines that corrective action, but not necessarily a corrective action plan, is required to prevent or remedy a risk to public health, regardless of whether the direct, indirect, or potential cause of that risk is a deficiency. (c) The department will require a corrective action plan if (1) another provision of this chapter provides that the department will require a corrective action plan; or (2) the department determines that a corrective action plan is required to prevent or remedy a risk to public health, regardless of whether the direct, indirect, or potential cause of that risk is a deficiency. (d) If the department requires corrective action under (a), (b), or (c) of this section, the deficiency, or the direct, indirect, or potential cause of a risk to public health, will be considered to be adequately addressed only when corrective action has been approved by the department or completed in accordance with a corrective action plan approved by the department.
