(a) It is unlawful for any person to operate gear, within water subject to the jurisdiction of the state, for the commercial taking of any fishery resource without having in his or her possession a valid interim-use or entry permit card issued by the commission authorizing that person to operate gear in that fishery unless waived by the commission for good cause. To be valid, an interim-use permit or entry permit card issued by the commission must be signed in the space provided by the person named as the card holder. (b) Repealed 1/1/78. (c) An alien applying for an interim-use or entry permit must show proof that the alien is lawfully admitted to the United States for employment purposes at the time of application. If an alien permit holder becomes no longer lawfully admitted to the United States for employment purposes, the alien's interim-use or entry permit becomes invalid.
