(a) An application for a grant from the artists in schools program is subject to the review process as set out in 20 AAC 30.045(a). (b) An application from an artist for inclusion of the artist's name in the artists in schools teaching artist roster is subject to the following review process: (1) council staff shall (A) review application material for completeness, and, if applicable, evaluate the applicant's compliance with a previously awarded artists in schools program grant involving the artist; and (B) forward the completed evaluation form to the teaching artist roster discipline advisory panel; (2) the advisory panel shall review each application and recommend to the council whether the application should be accepted or rejected; and (3) the council will consider the advisory panel's recommendation, decide on the application, and notify the artist of its decision.

AS 44.27.052 Editor's note: Effective 7/1/2011, Register 198, the Alaska State Council on the Arts readopted 20 AAC 30.525 to affirm the validity of that section after statutory amendments made in ch. 30, SLA 2010. The council also amended 20 AAC 30.525(b) and 20 AAC 30.525(b)(1)(B). Chapter 30, SLA 2010 made explicit the council's authority to adopt regulations consistent with AS 44.27.052(a)(6). Effective 7/1/2011, Register 198, the regulations attorney, under AS 44.62.060(b)(6), made technical changes to 20 AAC 30.525(b)(2) to reflect the correct name of the advisory panel referred to in the paragraph.History
