(b) The purpose of small projects grants is to provide for innovation or for enhancements in an existing activity or project, but not to maintain or create an ongoing program with trust money. (c) An application for a small projects grant must be submitted on a form or in a format prescribed by the authority. The board will set a schedule for applications for small projects grants. (d) The authority staff shall return an application that requests a grant in excess of $20,000, that does not state the amount requested, or that does not state how a requested amount will be spent. The authority staff shall provide a written explanation of the reason the application is being returned. (e) Repealed 5/11/2012. (f) The authority staff shall evaluate the applications, and prepare a summary of each application and a written recommendation to the board for the award of the grant. After reviewing the application summary and the recommendation of the authority staff, the board will either approve or deny an application. If the board approves an application, the board will determine the amount of the grant award. (g) The authority will notify each applicant for a small projects grant in writing of its decision to approve or deny the application as soon as practicable after the decision is made.
