(a) Within 30 days of receipt of a complaint, unless the time is extended to obtain additional information from the complainant, the ombudsman will determine whether to accept the complaint for further investigation or decline the complaint. If the ombudsman declines investigation of the complaint, the ombudsman will notify the complainant of the reasons. (b) The ombudsman may extend the 30 days for a reasonable time in order to request additional information from the complainant as provided in 21 AAC 25.010(d).
