(a) When a person applies for a mortgage license under AS 06.60, the person must pay to the department through the registry (1) an application fee of $250 in partial payment of investigative expenses incurred by the department; and (2) an annual license fee of $500 for the period that expires on December 31 after the date the license is issued. (b) When a person applies for a mortgage loan originator license under AS 06.60, the person must pay to the department through the registry (1) an application fee of $250 in partial payment of investigative expenses incurred by the department; (2) an annual license fee of $250 for the period that expires on December 31 after the date the license is issued; and (3) a surety fund fee of $150. (c) Fees established under this chapter are nonrefundable. (d) Nothing in this section relieves an applicant from the obligation to pay processing or other fees that the registry sets for services that the registry provides.
