-
Upon written application by an insurer, the director may grant an exemption from compliance with 3 AAC 21.705 - 3 AAC 21.799 if, after review of the application, the director finds that compliance with 3 AAC 21.705 - 3 AAC 21.799 would be a financial or organizational hardship for the insurer. The director will only consider an application for an exemption under this section if 3 AAC 21.705(a) does not provide an exemption to the insurer. The director may grant an exemption under this section at any time and for a specific period. Within 10 days after an insurer receives notification of the director's denial of the insurer's request for exemption, the insurer may request in writing a hearing on the denial. The hearing will be held under AS 21.06.170 - 21.06.230.
