Section 4.06.172. Reporting of school disciplinary and safety programs.

(a) A governing body of a school board shall report to the department information relating to the school district disciplinary and safety program required by AS 14.33.120. The report shall be submitted annually with the school report required by AS 14.03.120(a). (b) To meet the requirements of AS 14.33.120(a)(1) for collaboration at each school in development and review of the standards, the report must provide a description of the procedures used to develop the community-based standards of school behavior and safety contained in the school safety and discipline program, including (1) the persons who were involved in developing the standards; (2) the parameters for evaluation to assess the effectiveness of the standards; and (3) the period of review and evaluation of the standards. (c) The report must also include a description of the annual number of incidents by school of disruptive or violent student behavior, including the number of students suspended or expelled for (1) under AS 14.03.160, possession of deadly weapons; and (2) discipline violations not specified in (1) of this subsection.
