(a) The following are the groundfish registration areas and their code letters: Code Letter A - Eastern Gulf of Alaska Area (5 AAC 28.100) E - Prince William Sound Area (5 AAC 28.200) H - Cook Inlet Area (5 AAC 28.300) K - Kodiak Area (5 AAC 28.400) L - Chignik Area (5 AAC 28.500) M - South Alaska Peninsula Area (5 AAC 28.550) O - Bering Sea-Aleutian Islands Area (5 AAC 28.600) Y - Chukchi-Beaufort Area (5 AAC 28.700). (b) During a state-waters season defined in 5 AAC 28.081(c)(4), each registration area identified in (a) of this section shall be designated as a superexclusive, exclusive, or nonexclusive registration area for Pacific cod. (c) Unless otherwise specified in this chapter, a vessel that has been validly registered to take Pacific cod in an exclusive registration area may not be used to take Pacific cod in any other exclusive registration area during the same registration year. (d) During a registration year, a vessel may be registered to take Pacific cod in one or more nonexclusive registration areas and may be registered to take Pacific cod in one exclusive registration area. (e) A vessel that has been validly registered to take Pacific cod in (1) a superexclusive registration area may not be used to take Pacific cod in any other registration area during the same registration year; (2) an exclusive or nonexclusive registration area may not be used to take Pacific cod in a superexclusive registration area during the same registration year.
