(a) Except as specified in (b) of this section, following the closure of a groundfish season to pot gear, groundfish pots must have all bait and bait containers removed, and may be stored in the water as follows: (1) rectangular groundfish pots must have all doors secured fully open; and (2) cone or pyramid groundfish pots must have all doors not secured closed. (b) All groundfish pots must be removed from the water no later than five days after the closure of a season to pot gear.
