Section 5.28.470. Lingcod possession and bycatch requirements for Kodiak Area.

(a) Lingcod that are retained must measure 35 inches or more from the tip of the snout to the tip of the tail, or 28 inches from the front of the dorsal fin to the tip of the tail. Undersized lingcod shall be returned to the water immediately without further injury. A person may not mutilate or otherwise disfigure a lingcod in any manner that prevents determination of the minimum size. (b) If the commissioner determines that there is no conservation concern for lingcod, the commissioner may, by emergency order, increase the bycatch limit for lingcod, for vessels using mechanical jigging machines and hand troll gear.
