(a) Except as specified in (b) of this section, the commissioner may open, by emergency order, weekly king salmon troll fishing periods in the waters of District 8, beginning on the first Monday in May through June 30, to occur from (1) 12:01 a.m. Monday through 11:59 p.m. Wednesday when the commercial gillnet salmon fishery is open for 24 hours; and (2) 12:01 a.m. Monday through 11:59 p.m. Friday when the commercial gillnet salmon fishery is open for more than 24 hours. (b) The commissioner will not open a king salmon troll fishing period under this section (1) in the waters of Section 8-A and the waters of Section 8-B that are west of a line from the eastern side of Blind Slough to Craig Point Light, from 12:01 a.m. on the Friday before the Memorial Day weekend to 11:59 p.m. on the Monday after the Memorial Day weekend; and (2) in the waters of Section 8-B that are east of a line from the eastern side of Blind Slough to Craig Point Light from 12:01 a.m. on the Saturday before the Memorial Day weekend to 11:59 p.m. on the Monday after the Memorial Day weekend.
