Section 5.35.127. Tanner crab gear storage requirements for Registration Area A.

(a) Rectangular Tanner crab pots with all bait and bait containers removed and all doors secured fully open, and cone or pyramid Tanner crab pots with all bait and bait containers removed and all doors not secured closed, may be stored in the water only (1) for seven days following the season closure for Tanner crab in Registration Area A; (2) for five days following the season closure for Tanner crab in any portion of Registration Area A; (3) during the 10 days before the opening of the commercial king and Tanner crab seasons in Registration Area A only under the following conditions: (A) a pot may not be stored in waters deeper than 10 fathoms at mean low tide; and (B) buoys must be attached to stored pots and must be marked as specified in 5 AAC 35.051, except that a stack of stored Tanner crab pots or ring nets may be marked with a single buoy. (b) Ring nets with all bait and bait containers removed may be stored in the water as specified in (a) of this section.
