Section 5.93.015. General rules and conditions for use of shooting facility.

(a) A person may not use a state-owned shooting facility until that person acknowledges and agrees to the general rules and conditions for use posted at the facility. (b) The general rules and conditions for use of a shooting facility will be posted at the shooting facility for the protection and safety of the general public and to further the purposes for which the shooting facility was established. The general rules and conditions for use of a shooting facility may vary from other shooting facilities, but will include the general rules specified in (d) of this section. (c) The commissioner, or the commissioner's designee, may deny or revoke a person's access to a shooting facility upon failure to comply with the general rules and conditions for use. The general rules and conditions posted at a shooting facility may include restrictions on firearm use or ammunition type, magazine capacity, or other rules and conditions as the commissioner or the commissioner's designee consider advisable. (d) The general rules for a shooting facility include the rules specified in this subsection. A person using a shooting facility under this section shall (1) keep all firearms, bows and arrows, and crossbows pointed in a safe direction; (2) not touch the trigger of a firearm or crossbow unless ready to shoot; (3) keep all firearms, bows and arrows, and crossbows unloaded until ready to use; (4) wear appropriate eye and ear protection; (5) follow all instructions of a range master or safety officer; (6) shoot only at authorized targets; (7) use only authorized ammunition; (8) cease fire upon command; (9) act in a safe and orderly manner; and (10) not use or be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, except for lawful medicines.
