Section 7.05.310. Recording of certificates.

  • A certificate for each birth, death, fetal death, and marriage occurring within Alaska shall be recorded in the recording district within which the event occurred, irrespective of residence of the parties involved. The person so responsible shall prepare and file such certificate with the local registrar of the registration district within which the event occurred. The local registrar shall forward such certificates to the recording magistrate for recording, in accordance with the instructions of the State Registrar. If such event occurs on a moving conveyance, such certificate shall be filed in the registration district where the child or body was first removed from the conveyance. When a child of unknown parentage or a body of unknown place of death or fetal death is found, such certificate shall be filed and recorded in the district where such child or body was found.
