(a) Unless the department has terminated a provider's participation in the Medicaid program under 7 AAC 105.420, a provider who has received a sanction must participate in a provider education program as a condition of continued participation in the Medicaid program. (b) For each provider who has received a sanction, the department will determine the topics of the provider education program, including (1) claims form completion; (2) the use and format of provider manuals; (3) the use of procedure codes; (4) key provisions of the Medicaid program; (5) payment rates; and (6) how to inquire about coding or billing problems. (c) In addition to the requirements of (a) and (b) of this section, the department may require a provider or employee of a provider to (1) complete a course of study identified by the department; (2) serve a probationary period determined by the department; and (3) reapply for enrollment in the Medicaid program under 7 AAC 105.210.
