Section 7.26.660. Medical director responsibilities: training courses.

(a) The medical director for a department-approved EMT-II or EMT-III training course shall (1) be available in person or by telephone to answer specific questions arising during the training course; (2) ensure that additional medications or procedures are taught and evaluated in compliance with current medical practice and guidelines; and (3) assume responsibility for the techniques and procedures performed as part of the course, such as venipunctures, fluid infusion, and injection. (b) The medical director may delegate to another physician or physicians the responsibility for conducting some of the training described in this section. (c) The medical director assumes responsibility for the technical procedures performed as part of the course, but has no obligation to provide sponsorship to any student outside of the classroom setting or after the course is completed.
