Section 15.150.300. Procurement.

  • 	(a)  The provisions of 15 AAC 150.300 - 15 AAC 150.490 establish policies, authority, and guidelines relating to the procurement, management, and control of supplies, equipment, services, construction, office or other space leases, personal property, and professional services by the Corporation, and are intended to achieve maximum uniformity of procurement practices throughout the Corporation.  
    	(b)  In procuring the items described in (a) of this section, the Corporation will not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, marital status, pregnancy, parenthood, disability, or political affiliation.  
    	(c)  The corporation may fulfill purchasing requirements by procuring supplies produced or services performed by industries of Alaska correctional institutions if the procurement does not unreasonably compete with the private sector. The corporation will determine whether the supplies or services meet the corporation's requirements and whether the price represents a reasonable cost for the supplies and services.  
    	(d)  The corporation may maintain a list of employment programs that are defined under AS 36.30.990. The corporation may procure items under this section from an employment program defined under AS 36.30.990 or other HUD-sponsored employment programs without soliciting other providers of those items.  
    	(e)  Repealed 12/5/2014.
