Section 17.70.995. Definitions.

In this chapter, unless the context otherwise requires,  
		(1) "commissioner" means the commissioner of the department;  
		(2) "department" means the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities;  
		(3) "designated base port" means the home port for a vessel as specified in 17 AAC 70.430;  
		(4) "interport differential" has the meaning given the term in AS 36.90.049(e);  
		(5) "private sector user" means a person who has been given permission to use the Alaska Marine Highway terminal facilities by authorization or contract issued by the system director;  
		(6) "system director" means the general manager for the Alaska Marine Highway System;  
		(7) "vessel" means a marine vessel operated by the department.
