(a) If the appropriate administrative or executive officer disallows all or part of the claim, the claimant may obtain a review of the officer's action by applying within 60 calendar days after receipt of the disallowance to the Department of Administration, P.O. Box C, Juneau, Alaska 99811, either orally or in writing. (b) If the application for a review is made orally, the department will, in its discretion, request that the claimant file a written application identifying the claim and the decision disallowing it if the department reasonably believes a written application is necessary to enable the department to identify the claim and to obtain the necessary papers and memoranda to proceed with the review. The request for review must clearly state the position of the claimant with respect to the claim. (c) In all other respects, the procedures for a review under this section will be the same as the procedures for an appeal under this chapter.
