Section 2.92.110. Registration for snowmobile.

(a) In addition to the requirements in AS 28.39, an applicant for registration of a snowmobile must submit a bill of sale for the vehicle. An applicant unable to submit a bill of sale may be required to present the vehicle for an inspection of the serial number displayed on the frame and to submit an affidavit affirming that the person is the owner and stating the circumstances under which the person acquired ownership of the vehicle. (b) If ownership of a registered snowmobile is transferred or assigned, the new owner shall notify the department of the change in ownership within 30 days and pay a transfer fee of $5. If ownership of an unregistered snowmobile is transferred or assigned, the new owner shall notify the department of the change of ownership within 30 days and pay the original registration fee.
