Section 2.92.250. Dealer temporary permit.

(a) In addition to the requirements of AS 28.10.031(b), a vehicle dealer shall affirm in writing that the dealer agrees to issue temporary permits only in accordance with the laws of this state. (b) A vehicle dealer shall keep a record of every temporary permit issued by the dealer. The record must indicate the issue date, the buyer's name, the vehicle's identification number, make, model, and year. Upon request, the vehicle dealer shall make the record available and shall deliver a copy of the record to the department. A vehicle dealer shall keep the record for a period of two years. (c) The vehicle dealer shall indicate the temporary permit number on all copies of the application for title and registration. (d) If the department determines that a vehicle dealer has violated an applicable law of this state related to dealer permits, the department may (1) refuse to issue additional temporary permits to the vehicle dealer until the department determines that the dealer will comply with the requirements of the laws of this state and the issuance is in the best interests of the state; and (2) require the vehicle dealer to immediately return all unissued temporary permits to the department.
