Section 5.92.040. Permit for taking furbearers with game.

(a) The department may issue a permit to take furbearers by trapping with the use of game, furnished by the state, as bait. Procedures under which a permit will be issued are contained in Standard Operating Procedure II-025-3 (Confiscated Equipment/Salvaged Animals or Parts - nonedible meat and fish; permitting procedures to take furbearers with game), revised as of March 17, 2002, and are adopted by reference. (b) To be eligible for a permit, a person must either hold a trapping license issued by the department or be exempt from licensure under AS 16.05.400. (c) A person using game for bait under a permit issued under this section shall post a notice at the trap site indicating the permit number.
