(a) A registrant shall supply the appropriate individual monitoring device to, and require the use of the device in accordance with, the manufacturer's instructions for use by (1) an individual, except a patient, who enters a controlled area under circumstances that the individual receives, or is likely to receive, a dose in any calendar year in excess of 10 percent of the applicable value specified in 7 AAC 18.210(a); (2) a minor who enters a controlled area under circumstances that the minor receives, or is likely to receive, a dose in any calendar year in excess of five percent of the applicable value specified in 7 AAC 18.210(a); and (3) an individual who enters a high ionizing radiation area or very high radiation area. (b) A registrant shall retain the records of individual monitoring for at least three years following termination of the individual with task assignments involving potential for radiation exposure or until the registrant terminates operation and transfers personnel records to the department as required under 7 AAC 18.340.
