Section 4.06.712. Developmental profile.

(a) As part of the comprehensive system of student assessments required by AS 14.07.020(b) and 4 AAC 06.710, each district shall submit to the department by November 1 of each school year, on a form provided by the department, a developmental profile for each student entering kindergarten or first grade in each school in the district, including charter schools. A student whose profile was submitted upon entering kindergarten does not need an additional profile upon entering first grade. (b) Indicators that must be used in preparing a student's developmental profile under this section include (1) physical health, well-being, and motor development; (2) social and emotional development; (3) approaches to learning; (4) cognition and general knowledge; (5) communication, language, and literacy; and (6) child background. (c) For the purposes of this section, "child background" means the factors that affect a child's school performance, such as the child's pre-school experience, whether the child has an individualized education program (IEP), and the child's health data.
